OMFG.

This gave me grief and grey hairs :|.

Oekaki just would not agree with me on this one... I think it was all the dodge/burn/soft/texture/tablet/pressure sensitivity I used. I've been so accustomed to using openCanvas recently that I've forgotten how to handle oekaki with these full-fledged colouring jobs.

The oekaki ate my lineart just as I was starting the background.. and when I did finish the background, it wouldn't let me send on account of my idiodicy in deleting my base post... and then I merged all my layers.. >>; gaaaahhh

So.
Basically, I cut and pasted fragments of earlier revisions with fragments of later revisions to create this final product. Unfortunately, I couldn't cure the negative space issue by moving the foreground character because I was an idiot and merged everything :|.

Again, let me reiterate: I am not reading the Arrancar arc of BLEACH. Inaccuracies in character representation, environment, concepts etc. ought to be expected.

Red flower (lily perhaps) -- I wanted it to show fragility -- and this idea of like... spiritual matter being dissapated
Hell butterfly -- ... trying to fix negative space
Spots in bg -- .... tried to do a Menos Grande entry hole or something.. but I failed @ that.

I'm going to draw him again. fuck. just because everything seemed against me drawing him this time around.

i need sleep D:.

Wow... I love the consistent haunting pallet *_* The solemn expression is so well done, but I love the background the most. My eyes just keep wanting to move around :heart::worship:

i only merge layers when im going to save an image of the file. of course i never save my files with merged layers; that would defeat the purpose. :p

Beautiful :aww: I love the mood, the colours, tones, textures and your own style especially :D
I like the representations of the hell butterfly and flower you used =3
It gives this picture a much much different feeling from other Ulquiorra pieces =)
You may have had a hell of a time doing this, but it paid off :D
